DABO Scholarship Program

ScholarshipIn observance of the Detroit Association of Black Organizations’ (DABO) 33rd Anniversary, and on the occasion of our Annual State of the Race Address and Dinner, Sunday, February 19, 2012, 4:00 PM at Detroit’s Northwest Activities Center, we are pleased to announce the awarding of three (3) individual $ 1,000 scholarships to three (3) different winners at this dinner. At least one of the three scholarships has been designated for a 2012 graduate of DABO’s Detroit Cares Alternative High School.
DABO has been and remains committed to focusing on meeting the needs of our local community and developing our youth. Through this scholarship program, we will assist deserving youth with the opportunity to be prepared academically and professionally to further assist our community in its development and transformation.
The scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors graduating in Spring 2012, who will be enrolled in an accredited vocational or trade school or who will be attending a college or university in the Fall of 2012. These scholarships are intended to assist students with incidentals and can be used to cover the cost of books and other fees.
All scholarships will be dispersed before December 1, 2012 upon the submission of proof of enrollment and attendance in an accredited vocational or trade school, college or university to the DABO office, C/O Ms. Kimberly Taylor, Scholarship Committee Chair, 12048 Grand River, Detroit, MI 48204.
